Benjamin Ryan & Rupert Todd of Ursae Ltd. were approached by DaeWha Kang Design after the architectural practice had earmarked on overseeing a large interior design project for St. Andrew Church Holborn.

The refurbishment included the realisation of a number of bespoke artworks and key statement pieces. Ryan and Todd were commissioned to co-design and manufacture a number of pieces for the Sir Christopher Wren Church, including the churches concertina screens. The screens were designed to help divide the Lady Chapel from the Nave in a refined sympathetic manner. The screens gradating perforations allow more to be seen through them near their tops and less at the bottom. Made through the processes of water-jet cutting, break pressing, welding and hand finishing, the screens create a concertina affect at their base, transitioning to a flat straight edge at the top. The screens are a functional subtle addition to churches beautiful interior, and provide a cohesive aesthetic with the Reredos and Tabernacle.
